On March 29, 2026, BEE WING held its first public demonstration event, BEE WING Experience — Tokyo, at G-ROKS Studio in Shimotakaido, Tokyo.
The event was created to give bass players the opportunity to experience the BEE WING sound in a real-world performance environment.
The event quickly reached full capacity following the opening of registration, and we were pleased to welcome a full house of bassists from a wide range of musical backgrounds.

Experiencing BEE WING at Real Performance Volume
BEE WING instruments are designed with actual stage and rehearsal environments in mind.
As volume increases, low frequencies often become exaggerated and can lose their definition within an ensemble mix.
During the event, participants were able to play BEE WING instruments at realistic performance levels and evaluate key aspects of the design, including:
- Low-end definition
- Response and articulation
- Placement within an ensemble
Participants were able to evaluate these characteristics through their own playing.

Feedback from Participants
The event generated a wide range of impressions from the bassists who attended.
“The speed of the note attack, combined with the controlled acoustic response and excellent electronics, really impressed me.”
“This is the first active bass I've played where I genuinely loved the sound.”
“A wide frequency range with strong projection.”
“I really liked the neck profile—it felt perfect for me.”
“The intonation and clarity of the Low-B string on the 5-string model were especially satisfying.”
Participants also responded positively to the design philosophy behind the instrument.
“It feels like an instrument designed from a working player's perspective.”
“It seems capable of delivering a consistent sound regardless of the amplifier being used.”
Not all feedback was identical.
Some participants described the sound as:
“A little too neutral and somewhat mechanical.”
At the same time, many players viewed this neutrality as a strength, appreciating how easily the instrument sits within an ensemble without relying on excessive coloration or character.
Sharing the Design Philosophy
During the event, BEE WING Sound Designer Takayuki Murata provided a detailed explanation of the instrument's design philosophy and sound concept.
As participants played the instruments, discussions naturally developed around individual playing styles, tonal preferences, and practical performance requirements.
These conversations created valuable opportunities for players to gain a deeper understanding of the ideas and engineering decisions behind BEE WING.

Looking Ahead
BEE WING Experience events are planned to continue in the future.
The true character of an instrument often reveals itself only at performance volume.
We will continue creating opportunities for players to experience the BEE WING sound firsthand and discover what makes it unique.
